How to engage charity supporters

Raise more money by taking people on the journey with you

Every charity relies on donations so they can exist and deliver their vital work, but sometimes maintaining those donations can be a tall ask.

We spoke to the Nook Appeal by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) to learn how they engaged supporters to increase awareness of their latest project and to encourage people to give more.

The big idea

Back in 2017, EACH delivered a brand new purpose-built hospice in the heart of Norfolk – The Nook – to support children with specialist palliative care.

Even though it was a big-budget project – at £10 million – EACH did a fantastic job of using video to engage and inspire the local people to follow the development of the build and to feel part of the journey.

Why we love it

The virtual walkthrough video is a particularly powerful tool in helping people to understand how their donated money has been used, and the difference it has made.

Videos can be an engaging way to tell your charity’s story to your supporters. Maybe EACH’s video could inspire you to do something similar for your charity.
